The Harold Walter Siebens School of Business at Buena Vista University (BVU) seeks a full-time online instructor to work remotely who is committed to excellence in undergraduate online business education.
The successful candidate will serve as a content matter expert and teach a variety of courses in the undergraduate online curriculum in business, consistent with their credentials and interests.
This new position offers the opportunity to serve as a key faculty member in the online program, working collaboratively with the business faculty to develop and guide the expansion of the program’s offerings to prepare students for professional life.
The Business majors in the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business are designed to develop in students strong analytical and professional skills grounded in a comprehensive understanding of contemporary business.
Essential Functions:
Develop and update a wide variety of business courses to prepare students for professional life
Effectively teach online (asynchronous and synchronous) courses in the business core and one or more concentrations
Collaborate with the business faculty in both the face to face and online programs.
Practice quality interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Function independently and work effectively as a team member
Participate as a member of the Storm Lake faculty team by joining school meetings, trainings, and events.
Mentor and guide students as they develop professionally
Assist adjunct faculty in teaching and updating course content
Evaluate adjunct faculty as assigned by the Dean
Remain active and current in the field through professional development activities
A candidate within driving distance of the Storm Lake campus may teach one or more face to face courses, if desired.
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business, with a specialty in management, marketing, finance, or closely related field
Ability to teach a variety of courses in the University’s business programs
Ability to guide the professional development of students
Ability to collaborate effectively with Harold Walter Siebens School of Business faculty colleagues.
Ability to be a faculty lead in the online business programs and assist adjuncts in teaching and updating course content.

Experience teaching at the post-secondary/university level
Experience teaching courses in hybrid and online settings
Relevant professional experience in business and accounting
