POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Executive sells new business insurance products to meet the needs of prospects of the Agency, the Bank, and existing clients of the Agency.
The Sales Executive is responsible for managing a book of business while producing new business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
New Business 40%
Conducts sales of insurance products to clients and prospects of the Agency and Bank.
Greet on-site or walk-in clients that seek interest in new business products.
Sells various types of insurance policies to individuals on behalf of insurance companies, including but not limited to automobile, life, and property, medical and dental insurance.
Seeks out new clients and develops clientele by networking to find new customers and generates lists of prospective clients.
Customizes insurance programs to suit individual customers and/or clients, often covering a variety of risks.
Explains features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sales of insurance policies.
Facilitates the development of premium and establish payment methods that best meet the needs of clients.
Operates and achieves annual sales goal.
Account Servicing 30%
Ensures policy requirements are fulfilled.
Confers with clients to obtain and provide information when claims are made on a policy.
Monitors insurance claims to ensure they are settled equitably for both the customer and/or client and the insurer.
Grow assigned book of business by cross-selling and recommending coverage increases when appropriate.
Complete accurate, daily data entry into the agency’s core management system.
Process requested policy changes in a timely manner after obtaining all necessary information required for endorsement.
Answer phone calls and handle inquiries or forward to appropriate servicing party.
Renewals 25%
Conducts reviews to assess client risk and responds to changes in client exposure.
Market current policies with other carriers at renewal to ensure policy(s) best fits the needs of the client, when appropriate
Other 5%
Attends meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts.
Maintains evidence of all received insurance licensing.
Maintain CEC/licensing requirements directed by management to continually be successful in this position.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
2+ years’ experience in similar job duties, particularly in the insurance industry, is often preferred
TAM or EPIC Agency Management System competency preferred
Current Property/Casualty Licensee or the ability to obtain within 45 days
Current Life/Health Licensee or the ability to obtain within 90 days
