OLM Food Solutions is looking for a Plant Manager to lead their Milford, IA production facility.
This position oversees daily processing operations demonstrating commitment to employee safety, product quality, and teamwork.
Position has overall responsibility for two separate production lines at the Milford facility (pizza topping line, pizza dough line).
Essential Functions • Responsible for the safety for all employees under their supervision ensuring safety orientation and training of employees, enforce safe work practices, correct unsafe conditions, prevent lingering unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards.
• Manages plant staffing based on approved Employee Headcount plan.
• Reviews production, quality control, and other reports and statistics to plan and modify production activities.
• Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and achieve greater utilization of labor and materials.
• Review Redzone and OEE reporting to analyze line efficiencies and perform root cause analysis for process improvements.
• Verifies that production activities are performed in compliance with OLM Food Solutions policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Works with all Departments to maintain an audit/tour ready facility.
Ensures facilities are audit/tour ready in compliance with OLM Food Solutions policies and procedures, FDA/USDA regulations, and customer specifications.
• Monitors quality, safety, scheduling, personnel, and mechanical status of the plant.
• Direct and manage plant operations for production.
• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
• Control and minimize labor overtime.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
• Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
• Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Competencies • Education and/or Experience.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of seven years of experience in food manufacturing management in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.
A minimum of five years of experience managing a significant segment of a large food manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
• Communication/Language Skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are a must.
Ability to read and comprehend documents, simple instructions, and product labels.
• Technical Competencies.
Experience & knowledge in MS Office products (Excel & Word) and SAP preferred.
• Certifications.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Mathematical Skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts along with performing basic math functions.
• Reasoning Abilities.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Strong analytical skills with ability to identify opportunities.
