JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the warehouse, and overseeing a team of warehouse personnel.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.
WORK RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Oversee daily warehouse operations including inventory management, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
Champion a strong safety culture, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and ensure all equipment is kept in good working condition.
Upkeep of a passionate attitude and fostering a positive environment for fellow coworkers/employees to work within.
Meet or exceed all operational metrics and KPIs, including order accuracy, productivity, and safety.
Facilitate continuous process improvement initiatives and lead lean initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency Ensure timely deliveries to internal and external customers.
Use a centralized inventory management system to track inventory levels and movements across different locations.
Conduct inventory counts regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies or theft.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Manage the budget and resources for the warehouse department, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.
Hire, train, mentor, and manage warehouse personnel, ensuring high performance and employee engagement.
Prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively to optimize production schedules while anticipating and planning for potential issues, such as supply chain disruptions or staffing shortages.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous work experience working in a warehouse environment or general inventory and shipping knowledge is preferred.
Experience operating a forklift is a plus, but not required.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a related field
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage employees.
Experience with inventory management and warehouse management systems (WMS)
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
