*POSITION SUMMARY*
Participate in the development, design, and maintenance of new and existing product lines.
Plan and implement processes, tooling, and equipment for assigned product lines.
Insure smooth startups of both new and existing product by identifying problem areas and refining line balances.
Establish and maintain time standards, methods, and processes for all significant direct labor operations as assigned.
Responsible for cost reduction and value analysis of new and existing product lines.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
* Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
* Determines the processes, identifies the materials and supplies to be used, and designs and builds appropriate fixtures necessary for efficient and cost effective manufacturing.
* Performs engineering activities in compliance with established company and manufacturing standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and related specifications.
* Incorporate engineering specifications into design, process, or techniques and provide feedback to capture lessons learned.
* Plan and implement new technologies to increase productivity and efficiency.
* Improve manufacturing process cost.
* Ensure solutions achieve required quality levels, reliability, and consistency.
* Work with Shop Personnel to achieve goals, production, and efficiency.
* Performs all work in a safety conscious manner.
Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you.
* Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
* Supports the Quality Management System of Fisher Hydraulics.
* Supports new business development – may need to assist in development of drawings and specification sheets.
* Design new Lean concepts or evaluate and implement existing concepts, best practices, and effective manufacturing techniques.
* Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company’s housekeeping policies.
* Supply support to other Fisher Hydraulics departments as necessary.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* None.

A high degree of mechanical aptitude, analytical ability, detail oriented and demonstrable abilities to analyze, evaluate and conceive original approaches.
Must know Microsoft Applications – Word, Excel & PPT.
Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
*Manufacturing Engineer* *LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, blueprints, correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to write English correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to management and company associates.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
Apply mathematical operations to theoretical and practical manufacturing and industrial situations.
*REASONING ABILITY* Define manufacturing problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that include several abstract and concrete variables.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
