Assistant Feed Operation Manager A Land O'Lakes Member Owner agriculture cooperative is adding an Assistant Feed Operation Manager to join their team in Eagle Grove, Iowa! The Assistant Feed operation manager strives to successfully learn and assist the Feed operation Manager in all aspects of the cooperative's feed operation.
The manager’s role is to build, lead and manage the feed mills and obtain future growth while meeting the demands of the customers.
This role will be part of the succession plan for the Feed Operation Manager’s position.
Essential Job Functions: Direct responsibility of the feed mills in the company.
Direct the company’s feed production, product quality, introduce continuous improvement processes, and work with the FDM to develop and implement expansion, acquisitions, and or construction plans to support future company growth.
Responsible for sanitation, preventative maintenance, and safety protocols at the mills of responsibility (i.
e.
, USDA/FDA Requirements, HACCP, etc.
).
Ensuring the production and delivery of feed in the most efficient and economical manner while the requisite customer service levels and quality standards.
Directing continuous improvement processes for the feed mill and other operations.
Work closely with Quality Department to ensure the practices and processes meet and exceed company’s quality goals.
Structure a Safe work environment for feed milling while ensuring products are manufactured and delivered meeting all required regulations and biosecurity standards.
Building a strong sense of teamwork.
Train and develop team members to meet the need for a growing staff and normal succession.
Build a strong sense of teamwork with all levels of production and maintain Company culture.
Providing leadership by example to develop excellent decision-making at all levels.
Preparing and administering the operations budgets and developing operational performance reports.
Evaluating current facilities and developing capital plans and analyses to support future company growth, overseeing capital projects and the production facilities.
Work closely with the transportation department to improve efficiencies.
Participates in special projects when needed, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
5+ years of management/supervisory experience in feed or agricultural product manufacturing.
Work Requirements: This position will flex time between an office setting and feed mill.
Office equipment utilized will be computer, phone, fax, copy machine and other standard office equipment.
While in a feed mill, employee will be exposed to elements, loud noise, agricultural equipment, outside weather conditions and vibrations.
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles.
The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally may be loud.
PPE will be provided and must be utilized when applicable and according to safety standards.
Typical working hours are 7:30am to 4:30 pm but will vary based on customer and organizational demand.
While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time.
The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel.
The employee will need to be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and maneuver on and off a mobile equipment.
The physicality of this job is high.
