Concrete Foremen supervise the work of concrete laborers responsible for preparing, placing, finishing, and curing concrete.
They prepare work schedules for concrete laborers, estimate the amount of labor and materials required for concrete construction projects, and consult blueprints and drawings to ensure accuracy.
Overnights may be required.
Travel expenses paid by company, you are responsible for participating in a variety of building and construction projects using a wide variety of construction equipment, tools, and processes; you must work in a manner that helps to create a safe and healthy job site and support the Jensen Builders Core Values of dependability, integrity, and diversity.
Duties
Preparing construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
Perform building and construction work which includes, but is not limited to concrete walls, foundations, and slab, structural steel and metal erection, and general carpentry and finishes
With proper training, operate a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools and equipment as directed.
Load and unload construction supplies and equipment.
Shovel materials to and from job site such as dirt, gravel, etc.
Site cleanup duties
Follows all health and safety regulations when performing work and as otherwise instructed.
Train others on experienced tasks and learn tasks as needed or instructed.
Ensure that equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly and assist with inventory management.
Actively participate in work planning.
Follow all company work and safety policies and procedures.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Four years concrete experience, management experience a plus
Exhibit an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the concrete industry
Ability to read, interpret and train others on reading blueprints
Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills
Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
Possess a strong personal desire for improvement and the desire to motivate crew to be better tomorrow than they are today
A top performer who can instill pride in workmanship in himself and in others
Valid driver s license, CDL preferred
Insurable
Ability and willingness to work non-standard schedule: evenings and Saturdays as/if required especially in high season
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in construction
Valid CDL
Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and an ability to use resources at hand to find solutions
Behavioral and Physical Function Requirements
The Construction Worker will work in conditions of repetitive movement, bending and twisting, climbing, using hands to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The Construction Worker lifts heavy objects (50+ pounds), walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Must be able to read and follow instructions.
Must be able to work harmoniously with others.
